The NZ Rural Leadership Trust (Rural Leaders) is pleased to announce the appointment of new independent Trustee, Louise Webster to the Trust Board joining Nuffield Trustees Andrew Watters, James Parsons, Craige Mackenzie, Michael Tayler and fellow independent Trustee Hamish Fraser, after a robust selection process from 26 applicants. The Trustees sought someone with different skills and background to that already held  from the 26 applications received. Louise will join the Trust Board in January following a six month sabbatical in Europe looking at the agrifood and other sectors.

Louise Webster is a motivated senior leader, entrepreneur and CEO who brings extensive experience in education and leadership, strategic planning, market and channel development, and people management.

She has successfully founded, developed and exited the NZ Innovation Council in April 2017 to KPMG, after building a national innovation and business growth community of over 4,000 members, 21 organisations and multinational partners.

She has led and championed innovation and business growth in New Zealand for over 14 years working closely with 100’s of businesses, ecosystems partners and supporters across multiple industry groups.

She has a deep understanding of the innovation eco-system in New Zealand and how innovative technologies can be utilised and transferred across industries and organisations to maximise value for New Zealand’s economy. Given the different skills set required of leaders in the future, Louise will provide some new insights and experience to the Trust.
